Why do you keep giant snakes?

Hey.. Forgive me if this has been done before, but why do you keep the giants?

I got my burm because I thought it would be really neat to have a gentle giant, little did I know how much character they had and how much of a joy it is to work with her.

Rescues from people that thought they were cute little snakes lol The largest snakes I purchased were Bloods. But I will be getting a pair of burms in the future from a friend. Now I love them lol

I love the giants. Their size alone is impressive as an adult, and the power they posess is remarkable.
My engagement gift was an albino burm, since then we have gotten retics, an afrock, an anaconda and some scrubs. The retics are by far my favorites, they are more aware of things around them, and very deliberate in their behavior. Much to my enjoyment, the retics are as tame as the burms. The anaconda, afrock and scrubs care less for any company.
We have other reptiles in addition to the large constrictors, but next to the hots, I like the giants best

Same as Ken!

About the only big things we can keep(biggest) are Papuan, or, Olive pythons.

I have kept a bp for about 10 years and he has no character. He is a real lump of log.

I have a burm but he is no giant yet. He is only 10 and a half months and like a dog already. He knows whats going on and when I have company over he is up at the door of his cage to come out. I can only imagine the intelegence of a retic. The hastle and money it takes to keep him is well worth it.

I still love my bp tho.

I love giants for similar reasons to Retic Chic. But I also think that Retics and Burms are the most beautiful snakes. I also look at them as a view back in time to when bigger was the best survival strategy. I like Monitor lizards for similar reasons. Retics are unreal. They are so aware and very focused. Totally unlike anything I have worked with.

I just Keep them cause they Fasinat the heck out of me the Size has never ben a Problem for me to deal with.
wether it be a snake that is 6 feet 10 fet or 18 feet it is still Only a Snake and there are way around them all there are just guide lines that need to be falowed. one of them is to have 1 or more ppl around you at all times when dealing with the animal in case somthing bad hapends.

but all in all the Big 5 are the the animals that have captivated me since I was like 10.
there for that is why I work with them I work with what I love. Not what some pll may tell me is better to keep LOL....

I love the personalities of the burms and the retics also... but lets not forget the negatives. Their poop is crazy *** big and stinky. They take up so much space, and you got to feed them so much. I brought these issues up because i miss my burms and i'm trying to talk myself out of getting another now that i got my own house instead of apt. living!! LOL.....
