Hey Look Here Please!! A Public Thanks To Someone!!
I would like to Publicly Thank Ryan Harris (ryan337) for his generosity and honesty.
A while back I had a wanted add for a large aquarium for a recent Redeared slider rescue. I had alot of responses but most people wanted too much money for their tanks. I was low on funds. Ryan eventually offered to sell just his tank from his 70 Gallon Saltwater setup.
Then I had steam pipes break in my place, Christmas bills, got laid off, and my truck broke into ($280 window). Needless to say I had NO money. Ryan dropped the price down lots for me but I still could not afford it. A few weeks later he emailed me and said if I drove to his place I could HAVE the tank, stand and canopy for free!! That's right, this guy gave me a 70 Gallon tank, a nice stand and matching canopy for free!!!
I was a little worried about the integrity of the tank since it was custom made (looks like a factory job though) and it was free.(Hey, someone gives you a 70 Gallon tank that holds water, you'll be looking for the strings attached too) So he filled it up the night before and checked for leaks for me. It was good. I offered to get him something on my tab at work, reptisuns, plants, dishes, anything. All he wanted was acouple screen tops!! He wouldn't take anything else!! What a guy. So we drove to his place, picked it up, and set it up at home. It's been full to the top for 2 days now with 80 pounds of rock and a 60 pound custom land area top for the turtle. He is very happy!! So am I.
I just want everyone to know how much Ryan helped me create a home for my rescued Red eye who has gone from a cruel 10 gallon tank, 2 inches of water and no lights TO 70 gallons of swimming, a 100 Deg 1 X 2 foot basking area (that he hardly leaves) and a 48" Reptisun 5.0 (Donated by my boss).
Ryan is a stand up guy who keeps his word and is very friendly and helpful. If anyone has the privelage of doing business with this guy, you have no worries!!
THANK YOU Ryan !!!
Cheers, Garrett

sadly there are so many other stories out there like that nice to know u helped one thoe I personaly know this guy who keeps his adult slider in a 10 gal tank with no filter i've tried telling him but he won;t listen. Would human society do anything if i called them or would they even bother to go check it out.

I've done business with the Man & he's a solid class act. I've heard a few things about him from other breeders too though, all good ; )
Mark I.
Edit: I see you have a really nice AJC pictured on your site

Well this is a 2 year later update but non the less.
About a year ago, after Omar the Slider was fully recovered and ready to move on, my good friend at work offered to take him in. So I donated the tank and setup with Omar and now he lives happily with my friend. So he is happy, has a home and and that tank was passed on to stay with him.
Some stories do have happy endings.
