Cleaning corkbark?
I have a nice big piece of corkbark in my BP's tub, which I will be replacing with a better hide.
Thing is, that corkbark is expensive here and I'd still like to make use of it and think it would look good integrated in the back wall of my Crested Gecko enclosure.
So what's the protocol/cleaning process before I can transfer the corkbark?

I haven't done it with cork bark, dunno how well it does if its soaked or bleached so I don't wanna suggest anything and ruin the piece. Typical techniques are boiling water, oven baking, and soaking in bleach but like I said, thats for normal drift wood which is much less porous I believe

Never used it, but I would guess the mild bleach solution or baking method for standard branches would work. Otherwise I'm stumped...

I would rinse it with hot water and then use it.
I doubt there is anything that would hurt your gecko if your bp was ok.

Has the bark been soiled with feces? If not then, as Terran. has mentioned, as long as you BP was healthy you should have nothing to worry about.
Otherwise, a soak with hot soapy water followed by a good strong rinse (as from a hose or one of those kitchen sink sprayer hose thingies should do just fine.
If your BP had any health issues -- mites, illness, etc. -- then you might want to follow up the rinse with a baking in the oven for a bit.
