I just recently got my first sand boa, I've read a lot of reviews about being able to use the coarser grained playground sand instead of the reptile sand at pet stores. My question is: would I be able to keep him on the sand you get for fish tanks? I'm a HUGE fan of the Tahitian mood sand for my fish tanks and would love to be able to use it with him as well.
ok! Does it matter what which wood I use if I were to get the Beta chips? It said it comes in maple, beech, birch or poplar. Or should I just stick with the aspen chips to be safe?

I prefer the beech chips and use beech chippings for most of my snakes, aspen would be fine to use aswell.
