What else?

Ok. So I soaked my snake yesterday. And it seemed to help but what can I do to get the rest off? It looks like it has to be annoying.

Re: What else?

Dampen a pillow case and place your snake inside.. it will work the shed off in about 20-30 minutes. Next time make sure you have your humidity right and you won't have to deal with this issue.

Re: What else?

The rest of his body is good. Its just his tail and he has a little spot on his head and it looks like he has a piece of skin hanging on right in front of one of his eyes.

Re: What else?

I have fixed my humidity... Before it was lingering between 40-50%. Now it stays around 62%. And I just fed him last night so would it be ok if i did it tomorrow?

Re: What else?

yes wait to do it but get the humidity up to at least 80% if not 90% while your snake is in shed. 62% just wont cut it.

Re: What else?

Go to any feed store and buy this stuff called VetRx. It will help get that shed off and replenish moisture to the skin. It also helps to ward off RI which can sometimes accompany improper humidity.

Re: What else?

I aim for 65% normal humidity and up to 80-90% during shed time.

Re: What else?

All excellent advice. Fix the underlying problem so this doesn't happen again.

Re: What else?

If it doesn't come off just fix the humidity and wait until next shed. It should all come off then. A little retained shed once is no big deal but make sure it all comes off next shed and like said above fix the issue.

LOLOL. I have fixed the humidity issue. I will be getting a bigger, better tank soon. Can anyone recommend a good tank to get? I was thinking about getting the one they have at the pet stores that have the two doors that open in the front that you can lock as well. I'm assuming the easiest way to get the humidity that high for shed would be a humidifier or mister?!?

Re: What else?

i would put him back in the bath and be firmer, when you peel/rub the retained shed off,as long as you keep an eye on the scales, you can be quite firm when removing it

its almost like peeling cellotape off a parcel

cheers shaun

Re: What else?

Build a tank or get a tub don't waste your money on other tanks you have to adjust to make work. For a few dollars you can get a plastic storage tub and drill holes in it. Perfect snake home once you add all the other stuff you already have.
