Some General Shed Questions

So, i keep carpets, and none of mine are really regular sheders so i have gotten used to that, but my retic has always been fairly predictable, shes 13 months old now, and has been shedding with regularity, but this most recent once had her go blue 3 weeks ago, and still no shed, Not sure whats up, thought id ask around

Re: Some General Shed Questions

hmm that's interesting. i'm not an expert as my carpet was a demon and I had to give her to somebody who could actually take proper care of her... I know that one time my ball python's shed ended up in a ball about the size of a fist, could your carpet have shed and it's somewhere hidden in the enclosure?

Check under the bedding? He might've shed by going under the bedding and it could've stayed there

Re: Some General Shed Questions

as said mate carpets just do heir own thing regards shedding

i would be interested to hear from retic keepers about their sheds though,as 3 weeks after blue and still no shed seems like quite a long time mate

cheers shaun

Re: Some General Shed Questions

humidity is around 55-65% i was told high humidity wasn't to critical, and she last ate when her eyecaps where just fading from blue, so about 2.5 weeks ago, wich is unusual for her to be honest

Re: Some General Shed Questions

bump it up, the big breeders I've spoken with try and keep it above 70 when they're that age.
Have you offered food since? She's what? 8ish feet?

Re: Some General Shed Questions

eye caps are normal, and ive never had problems with her before, its starting to wrinkle a bit on her, and there is a tiny spot on her head that is flapping in the breeze, i think tommorow or the next day she should be freshly shed
