blowin bubbles

So we got our bloods delivered yesterday by fed ex they were really cold so we put them in their enclosures to warm up. Today I noticed one of the females was blowing bubbles out of its mouth and nose. Called the place I got them and let them know what's goin on. They said to put them under heat and they should be fine. Does this sound right to you all?

Re: blowin bubbles

It sounds like an RI, temperature might help, but medication is allot quicker, and RIs can go bad quick if not treated.

Re: blowin bubbles

It's an RI. Warm them up, add some humidity, and it should clear up on its own. I'd ask for a partial refund because of it however.

Not worth it for a full refund, it's not difficult to treat.

not having a go at you

thats if it is the early stages of a respiritory infection

i would say its further on than that, due to it being at the stage of blowing bubbles (excess mucas)

meantime i would up the hot end temps by 5 degree's,then get a vet appiontment for them mate

the vet can take a trachial swab to help identify the type of infection and the best antibiotic to treat it with

imo the shop should NOT have sold you snakes that were NOT 100% healthy

its up to you where you go from here.....

pay for a vet to look at them

then pay for the treatments

or

get a full refund and buy other snakes

or

get the shop to take them back and treat them until 100% healthy

it may be a simple respiritory infection but it may also be something more serious.only a vet will be able to tell you after they run a few tests

cheers shaun

Re: blowin bubbles

That is what I was thinking, I was just in a rush. IMO you should demand a refund or cover the vet bills.

Re: blowin bubbles

We will be speaking with them in the morning then. I'm guessing this is contagious if so more than likely all 3 will need to be treated... this is what I get for goin against what I know and getting farmed snakeys time to find a vet...
