red lights?
I just want to know if it okay to use a infrared list 24/7... I have all 4 snakes on these and want to make sure that it is ok for them to be exposed to it all day and night... will it mess up their day/night cycle?
Thanks....

Re: red lights?
I use the lights for heat in nearly all my tanks. I dont see that they would effect the day/night cycle as long as you have a clear globe for the day light that is done according to the season you are in.

Re: red lights?
It is fine to use red or blue night bulbs 24/7 if you need to. Your corn snakes, though, probably don't need any heat at night. When I kept snakes I did not use any bulbs. Just belly heat.

Re: red lights?
i use ceramic non light emmiting bulbs for all mine except my diamond she only gets a basking light for 2 to 8 hours per day depending on the season.
the diamond is a true cold weather python though and an exception to the rule
cheers shaun

if you mean heat mats then they dont do much for ambient air temperatures
as a general rule i use
mats for tubs
ceramics for vivariums
using mats with bigger snakes can lead to thermal burns
cheers shaun

Re: red lights?
As of now I have 4 glass tanks. 3 10 gal and 1 20gal, I wat to use infrared light all day and nighter for my ball and brb, is this okay?
As for the Belly heat, I don't have tubes yet, I will be switching to a rack with sweaterboxes in witch I will be using flexwatt year tape with rheostst.
But for now are red lights okay to use for my tanks 24/7???

Re: red lights?
Yes they are fine. I would suggest starting to use a day light as it stimulates night and day behaviour.
