Introducing Prettyboy Floyd

My new Madagascar ground boa, nice big muscular boy bought from Tom Prato in West VA. At first this guy was apprehensive about coming out, he stiffened up and gave me that "look" but then chilled and started exploring every nook and cranny when I took him out. Maddy's patterns are like a Dumeril's on LSD, very odd lol.

Wow, he is beautiful! Are they related to Dumeril's at all? When I first got into the hobby, I thought they were the same thing, but I know they're not now. I love MGBs but they are a bit out of my price range right now. You are soooo lucky!

A lot of people confuse them for Dumeril's but they are in fact separate species, though their pattern, size, and facial features are similar. Yeah, I saved for a while for him, but it was worth it.

They go for the 8 to 10 foot range at the biggest.

I want to get more precise measurements but I'd say around 4-5 feet, and he fills up every bit. Here's a pic of him in my lap
