Aww That's not good. I guess you would have to get a bunch and HOPE?? Some lived? Then eventually breed them. They hopefully wouldn't be sp stressed out then? Where did you get your's from?

They would be much more stressed out if you bought a whole bunch and kept them in the same tank, and buying a whole bunch and hoping some live is not a good way to look at getting into a species. I just want to point out that that is not a good way to go about breeding, you should know the species you are planning on breeding before you breed them IMO.
Get one from a reputable breeder to ensure it has no parasites etc and it should do fine if you are caring for it correctly.

Re: Rough Green Snakes would like info on care?

SIZ---I know what you mean. It just didn't come out right! But I have noticed that they like companonship, so have maybe 3 or 4 together would be OK? I have tried all over to find C/B, but seems like they are all W/C. Sadly! Too bad someone wouldn't breed them, they are lovely display snakes! I am dealing with a reputable breeder, but he only has two, they are too young to breed and he's not even sure if he has a pair. I don't mind waiting. I could have had W/C's by now, but I don't want that. I want to start out right and work with them over a long period of time. As I will probably get babies, and they need to grow up. Plus I won't breed anything too young either. So it's a Long term thing. But even If I never breed I sure wish I could find C/B's They are so pretty. At least I think so anyway. Just want to enjoy watching them. We don't have little kids around now, so They wouldn't be stressed, just me working with them. Hope I find some, Someday! But don't worry I'm not going out to buy a whole bunch! NOT happening.

Well good luck in your search You should never keep snakes together though except for breeding purposes.

Re: Rough Green Snakes would like info on care?

The Fellow I am working with keeps his two together, and they have been together all along. He hasn't had any problems, and is very experienced with Snakes. So that's why I thought 3-4 in there would be OK? I know normally snakes shouldn't be kept together, in case they eat each other! But these seem to be a bit different. So am Hoping that SOMEDAY I can get some C/B's. I REALLY don't want to go with w/c. They do usually die unfortunately.

Rough Greens are not bred in Captivity that I know of. They are all wild caught. The snakes are worth $40 and are hard to keep alive let alone breed so seems to be not worth peoples time.

I have not kept them but someone I know has had them and with no luck. She had 3 (not at the same time) and all of them died living no more than a month or so. I think only one of them ate......but not enough. I do know that some people have had great success with them though. Usually it is people who purchased 3 or more at a time and had one or so live.

Good luck in your search
