best advice for newbie snake owner

Congradulations on your new snake, bravo, best advice I give any new snake owner is please remember it is not a kitten, or puppy or even hampster, sometimes our enthusiasm is so great we try to hold ,,,,,kinda cuddle our new found scaled friends,,,most often they....DON"T TAKE KINDLY TO IT...not they won't sometime build you can hope a sort of attachment to you but they are in need first of a quiet new home, secure from what they might view as other predators and just some down time ...after a day or too make your face present and keep on looking in on your friend every so many hours eventually the panic of the transistional move will subside.....GOOD LUCK "Snakes ,,,I don't just love them, I talk to them"EM :bounce:

congrats on your new snake! try not to handle your new pet for at least a week to let him/her adjust to it's new environment. what's your set-up like? do you have two hides?

hi

my g/f kattmeow and i got the snakes lol i unno how to post new threads yet so i'll just add on to hers. we bought a 28 gallon tank and we have 2 hides on the hot and cooler side for them. we picked up our little mice(they look gross) and our tongs... we have this thing for them to climb on and thers moss and sum rough patches to help them shed easier. we also got a tight fitting lid to make sure they can't escape. and a deep enough water bowl so they can go in it if they like. we put sum soft barky stuff on the groud. we think it's alot better then the stuff they're in now( sum really pokey wood chips.) if u have any suggestions to what we can do with our tank plz tell. he have done our research but are still open to any advise we can take. thanks for your help so far guys!
