i dont like heat rocks, i have heard too many stories on reptiles getting burned on them. and a heat rock shouldnt be used as a sole source of heat anyways, and you'll still need the flourescent lighting too

Absolutely you will probably need two light fixtures. One with a daytime spot bulb that is on a 12 hour cycle, and another infrared spotbulb kept on 24/7 for night time heat.

good luck

my tegu set up don't have any night heat but you need absolutly a basking spot for the day. I do not recommend heat rock. What kind of tegu it is?

I think it's a columbian. I want to cut a hole in my melamine for a heat lamp. Will that heat the cage well enough.

Also what should i feed my tegu i can't find any info on them.
Right now he is eating egg and crickets and some mealies.
Should i feed him fruit and stuff like that. How can i get him to eat pinkies and meat stuff like that

Thanks for your help

if it's not an argentina black and white or a red tegu, forget about fruits. Rodent transition is not supposed to be a problem.
