Alligator Lizards?

Anyone have these? What are they like as pets? I have found a few care sheets online, so that is ok. Just need to know what they are like. Thanks in advance!

TK,

I've kept them briefly, and can say without a doubt that they were one of the easiest to keep lizards I've had. They needed no special housing apparatus, except a basking light (of course). And they ate anything and everything that moved. I was fortunate enough to have 23 babies born in my care, and every single one ate pinhead crickets immediately.

Being that they are native to BC I've no idea about the legalities of keeping them. But, if you do end up with one (or more), I'm sure you will enjoy them. I certainly did!

Thanks for the replies I am greatly interested in what I could get up here for pets, will be doing more research about them. They sound awesome, and might help my hubby to be a little more inclined to be near the herp room, lol (he only likes lizards and teeny tiny snakes, even balls are too big for him).
Thansk again

Ok, one question...what kind of enclosure is good for these guys? Some one is giving me a few that they no longer wanted (they were going to be given to the SPCA). I will be getting them this thursday (not sure what species they are, they bought them about 2-3 years ago).
Anyways, if glass tanks are ok for them, then I am set (I have have everything else that I need for them).
Thanks again!

TK who is quite happy

Yeah, I checked to be absolutely sure, they are from the south, US someplace (not sure where). Not sure if they are alligator lizards though, these people are not too educated (they just bought some little skink like lizards), I will see them later today to be sure. Will post what they look like to me

Well, they were not alligator lizards, I have no idea what they were but they decided to keep them. They looked like a skink, but deff not alligators. Oh well
