I've fed youngins as early as 2 weeks. So long as the meal is the right size there should be no problems. I have found that any babies who are "problem" eaters do very well when given mealies. Perhaps they are less frightening or something.
If you can get small mealworms, or raise your own, you'll have them in all sizes. There'll be a mealworm just right for any hatchling. I feed mealworms to hatchlings as well as crickets. Since I also raise my own superworms (zoophobas) I also off tiny ones to babies over 3 months old. Note: they're TINY superworms, about the size of the mealworms they eat).
I do the same as Hilde.
I raise my own mealies, and superworms, and feed my baby leo them. I have since she started eating I do feed her the smaller ones, and med. sized freshly molted. She likes them better than crickets.
