need advise

hi
I just got this argentina boa, now heres what I know she is 6' the person who had her was feeding her 1 mouse a week and a round a 6 weeks ago droped her off at a pet store ,the store had her in the back and was treating her for a respitroy infection the vet was in the store one a week looking over things and the snake she was on baytrl , they showed her to me and I got here 'I know bad put i could not leave a sick snake in a pet store' she stayed in the store for another 2 weeks till the vet cleared her for me to take home know she still not healthy and Im taking her to my vet tomorrow. At the store she was in a 30 gal tank and they did not clean the mucis that was on her nose off so you could not see she had holes for her nose and they feed her 1 rat a week for 3 weeks and know she has not ate in 3 weeks I think that is from being feed so little and then getting bigger food she is not use to it. but she is home know and in a 130 gal tank I cleaned her nose and I seems to love her tank the first thing she did was strech out and move around her humidity is about 60% and heat is 90 under the lights and in the rest of the tank 80. I put her in the bath 1 a day because she is so dry and she'l swim around and then lay there and after a while she gets out , i make sure the water dose not get cold what else sould I be doing? thank you kate

You'll drive yourself nuts worrying about her water getting cold. Don't worry about it as long as it's fresh. As far as feeding goes, if I understand you correctly you think that 1 rat a week is not enough? If that's the case I disagree. One meal about the girth of the snake is appropriate.

I really wouldn't worry about her not eating for a few more weeks at least. It's not uncommon for a snake to need some time to get comfortable and let the stress levels settle. If the snake has a respiratory infection then I'll guarentee that's adding to the stress and she may not eat until she gets better. A trip to a good vet is probably a good idea. Keep us updated and good luck!

P.S. try to look over your posts to make sure you're clear in the future. You've got some of the longest run-on sentences ever created which makes it difficult to read. A period at the end of a sentence does wonders =) take care

hi
I took her to the vet and he says the respiratory infection is gone. She was only geting rats about half her girth, and she is a little over 6' and only comes in at 6 1/2 lb . The vet is worryed because she is so skiny and had lost alot of muscling, and has not ate in 3 weeks as of last tuesday ,so he said to bring her back in 2 weeks if she still does not eat. I know I could be worring to much .

But thank you vary much for you help you are right I should not worry ,its just that i know she was sick when I got her and owned her for a mounth but only had her home for 4 days.

Thank you again Kate
