1. they are gravid. you need to keep them at, i think, its around 80 degrees. For substarte you should use moist vermiculite. if you dont want to use an incubator you can put the eggs in a rubbermaid on the warm end of you snakes enclosure. Although it is relativly easy to make one.
2. You dont need to put them in a smalle tank just introduce the male into the females cage or vise versa. To trick them into breeding you can hibernate them.
I recomend that you go out and buy the Cornsnake Manual by Bill and Kathy Love. it goes into very descriptive detail about breeding corns. if you dont wanna go out and buy that you can just go to yahoo and type in cornsnake breeding and read as many of the pages as you can.
