Talking home made waterfall :)

I had a spare filter from my old turtle cage so i decided to put it to use as a pump for my new waterfall i made for my sav tank. It turned out amazing The only thing i dont like is that you can see the plastic tub. Im gonna buy some flat rock to put over it somehow..this is it for now though and working great. The filter is behind the big rock and then i attached a pipe that goes up, to the side, and over the rock. Then i covered it all up with leaves and things. I love it You can kinda see the blue pipe

this is how the water pops out..nothing special just i had to aim it so it didnt flow over the sides..that was difficult

and the sav i made this for

Anyone know how to sex these guys? Mines pretty small now, about a foot long, nose to tail. Is it to early? And is it hard?
