Talking Tarantula Q's

Hi everyone I recently purchased a one inch Mexican Red Knee. I'm keeping him/her in a two gallon tank, with about two inches of crushed walnut mixture. He/She has a small hide, and a shallow water dish. I'm not providing any heat source because we keep our house around 70 degrees. Here are my questions. 1. Is this a good set up. 2. Do I need a heat source (if so what). 3. How do I provide humidity other then the water dish and a light spray evey few days. 4. When should I begin handeling him/her.

Thank you so much for your time and efforts, it is greatly apperciated.

1. that sounds like a decent setup to me
2. If it is around 70 try raise it up to 75 at least...room temperature is good..
3. having a water dish is good enough dont have to spray it
4. You can handle it right now but it is kindda small...i would handle when it is around 2 inch though...

Raise that temperature as manville said. as for the handling, be patient and wait till the next shed. Keep in mind that this species is quit tame and they will get used to you at pretty much any size you decide to start handling them. What I mean by "getting used to" is that it'll flick less and less urticating hairs at you as it gets "used" to getting picked up. However keep in mind that hanlable or not depends greatly on the particular species but ALSO the specimen.
