When I kept mali uromastyx they would do that quite often. Im pretty sure its thermo-regulation or something having to do with controling theit body temp. Thats a nice beardie you got there, nice set up too.

Yep... it's like when a dog pants to cool off.. same thing with beardies. But if they tend to do it a lot, you may have a respiratory infection problem.

From what I am aware of, they do this to release excess heat. As long as you allow a proper thermal gradient, it won't be a problem. Yes, this is my Beardie and he is quite the charachter.....check this pic of him I took last week:
