The turtle was in an aquarium and I used a Nikon D100 with a off body flash.

Here in Virginia musk turtles are fairly common.

What a sweet pic! I have white throated muds. Do you ever see yours on land? I would love to see the tank set up. again nice pic and an even better turtle!TB

My musk turtles rarely leave the water. Here's my other musk turtle, a Stripe-necked Musk Turtle (Sternotherus minor peltifer)

Since his post was brought up again... I like to add, anyone have any musks available in Canada? I'd love to get a musk (Sternotherus spp), any kind.

I had a Razorback before I moved, but I had to leave it behind. I miss these little bottom walkers.
