Hello all, sorry I am new here but I have a 4 year old bug eyed Texas rat snake whose having apparently a bit of an eye issue. I’ve attached a picture below . I can’t tell if that’s an eye infection or a piece of the cypress mulch stuck. I tried getting it off with a wet q-tip but had no luck. Really hoping I don’t have to take her to the vet, any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks
If there is something stuck in there then the snake should shed it the next time it sheds. I would keep an eye on it and make sure the snake has access to lots of clean water (it may get washed out on its own). If it begins to look irritated then you should be able to use terramycin ophthalmic ointment on it.
