Need help creating enclosure

I am going to adopt a corn snake soon, and am having some difficulties with setting up the probe to the thermostat. I have a hydrofarm thermostat and zoo med UTH. My enclosure is a glass cage that uses a sliding lid, similar to the file attached. How will I feed the probe in to the enclosure? It seems impossible with this kind of cage. Is the only solution to drill a hole in to the glass? Or should I purchase a new cage? If so, what would you recommend?

Put the probe between the Uth and the glass. Use a temp gun to check the floor temps over the Uth. The temp you set the thermostat at will be different than the floor temp. For instance my Uth thermostat on my rack is set at 102, and the actual floor temp in the tubs is 92.

Alright, I ended up actually just buying a new cage, exo terra 36x18x18. I stuck the reptitherm thermostat under the left side, and attached the probe inside the tank using sugru in the middle of the heating pad. The glass is kept at 85 degrees using a hydrofarm thermostat, and the rest of the enclosure is just kept at room temperature; the only heating is the pad on the other end. I have a water dish and a hide on each end.

Am I doing anything wrong? When I put him in the cage, he slid over to the cold hide and as far as I can tell hasn't left it once. I'm not sure when to feed him, and it's been a few days. I'm very worried.

Just make sure the warm side temps are OK. As long as they are I wouldn't worry about him not using the warm side yet. Most of my snakes never do unless they just ate.
