Post New Boa enclosure question

Wondering if anyone could help me in making sure my mail 6ft long red tail boa will live comfortably in a new enclosure I'm making out of a european style pallet. It is 31 inches wide by 47 inches long with a depth of 23 inches. It is a very large enclosure but I feel as though it will provide an ideal home for my Boa. Currently, he is living in a very very small cage from the school I have him from and I'm sure his living conditions are very poor. It is completely plywood a the moment but I'm inlaying an acrylic/glass sheet for viewing as well as adding a hatch on top and drilling ventilation holes and spots for lighting. Will this enclosure work as a suitable home? I was going to lay down 3-4 inches of bedding as well as use a higher wattage bulb to make sure heating is viable. Any responses would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: New Boa enclosure question

It sounds promising, Pete...but I'm not a wood guy, so realty can't give construction advice...other than to say make sure to seal it extra carefully.

And major kudos to you for providing a good-sized home for your pet!
