Insert witty thread title here! (Green Anaconda)
Was cleaning her enclosure tonight, and put her in the bath for a while. She gave me a quick strike (only the second time ever doing so), and then I snapped up some close ups of her!
I love Greens! Wish there were more posted here.... hint hint.... to those who own them!

Awesome shots
Green annies are one of my favorite snakes, but I will never own one. They are banned here and i just am not able to provide for such a large snake..

I love large constrictors so much. Green Anacondas are so fascinating to me.

She's about 4 feet, and about as thick as a normal size can of Campbells Soup (if that helps with imagery! LOL).
She's feeding on a Medium/Large rat every 10 days.... sometimes get's another rat if another snake refuses.
I'm trying very hard not to overfeed, because Greens are so prone to obesity when in captivity. I know she'll grow, so I'm in no rush to get her there. I like seeing nice muscle tone, and fast movements. When I have her out of her enclosure climbing on me she can move as fast as a Rat Snake at times. THAT'S how big snakes should be IMO, not slow and lethargic.

I so agree! People tend to think because they are anacondas they should be fat. They will over feed them to get them big. What they forget is they are still boas and boas are slow growers.

Gorgeous green you've got there. I want to get a male so bad, but I don't feel it's a great idea for now. Maybe in the future, for now I'm happy with my yellow. I'd love to see a pic of you holding her for size comparison.

I've noticed they grow so much slower then my pythons, I didn't realize how much he's grown. It kinda sneaks up on you.

Re: Insert witty thread title here! (Green Anaconda)
I have one that length but she is not that thick. Very fussy eater for me. I do like her personality. It is different from my boa for sure. She exhibits an interesting form of intelligence. I have to handle her more though. I will try to get a pic up shortly. That's why I was wondering how old she was for that length. Mine is 2 years old give or take.
