Amazons
Hey Kevin McRae, I just had a litter of eight amazons and I might be able to answer your question. Both parents of mine are high colored animals (being they have more bright color then dark). When the eight babies came out only two of them were garden phase and the rest were colored. I did't know what to think because both adults are high colored why am I getting garden babies. I think this comes down to bloodlines and having great looking colored adults should provide you with colored babies. I also think if you can trace you bloodline back and find out what the parents look like that might help you. Also you get a higher % of colored babies when breeding colored adults.
Gardens X Gardens = 100% Gardens
Colors X Gardens = 50% Gardens, 50%colors
Colors X Colors = 100% colors
It should work like this, but to make a long post short you have a higher % of producing colored amazons when you breed colored adults. The following chart only works sometimes in breedings that I have seen, but with amazons it's just a roll of the dice to see what you can get.
