Gaboon bite......

My 5 foot+ female latched on to my 4 ft+ male last night....... Grabbed him by the face as he was finishing a rat...... What a bloody mess....... The males face swelled up alot right after the bite but today is back down to normal size and he seems to be doing fine....... No iregular breathing and no more bleeding......... She hit him so hard and fast it was just amazing to see..... But I dont want to see it again....... Apparently gaboons are immune to their venom....... She did not get any vital organs so I am sure he will be fine......... The male is drinking alot of water though...... Seen his head in the dish about 4 times today...... In all my years of keeping gaboons this is the first time I have ever seen one attack another........ I was sick after watching that...... There was nothing I could do to help the male...... I just had to let it go on till the female realized he was not food........ I treated the two punctures with neosporin and have him in a separate cage for now........ I just want to monitor him for a while to make sure he does not get infected.......
