so, i have a female kenyan sand boa right now, and i am planning on getting a male sand boa at the september canadian national expo. i know how to take care of these snakes, and my female is a juvie and the male is going to be a juvie too, so it will be some time before breeding time, and i want to use that time to learn as much as i can about sand boas. i know the care requirements of this snake, and my little girl has grown alot in the last month. it will be at least two years before i breed, as my baby(s) have to grow up first, but i just want to know if there is anything special required to breed these little guys .
I've bred mine without a cooldown, and i've produced litters both times. I introduced the male in late February-early March both times, and he went straight to work on my female. Witnessed two confirmed locks each time, and by mid-late summer, i had babies.
This method has worked for me, personally, but that doesn't mean it will work with everyone else.
awesome anyone else bred them? i want to hear as many different breeder's stories as i can before i even consider breeding just making sure i know what i'm doing...
