you've got a beautiful corn! By the looks of it he seems to be fine with handling now. Thanks for posting pics!

Thanks, he is settling down nicely. we bought him from a breeder at the show who has had him since hatching. I get the impression his breeders are not handled alot.

Helios was striking and biting (nothing bad, just a little bit of a shock) when feeding or cleaning was done at first, and although that has stopped, he is still far more squirmy and hard to hold onto than my female Okeetee! But we'll get him there!

My first snake was a corn and she was nippy from the start, despite handling, and bit me every chance she could for almost 6 years (when I finally found her a new home). But from what I see on this forum they make great pets, and mine must've been the exception But I'm glad he's taming down for you! Loved the pics!

Nice! I like the look of the carefresh bedding in there too. Am I seeing 2 corns in there? Are you breeding them? or why are they housed together?

Re: Profile: Helios

I don't handle him much, I'll admit. But hubby does handle him quite a bit, he still strikes and usually draws a bit of blood. ATM (and it's breeding season I know) he bloodies my hand just during spot cleaning and freshening water!!

Yes, they are together for breeding and usually live in thier own enclosures. I am trying to prove out a possible het. That enclosure is actually my Okeetee's enclosure. Helios lives in a tub in the rack system
