BP humidity questions
Ok so about a week ago i got a BP as a gift (not sure what kind) because one of my mom's friends stole my BRB. The humidity levels have been around 60% up until two days ago when they've been spiking to 80%
i've looked at many different sites and all have been giving me mixed information. What humidity levels do they need? And what high's and lows are unhealthy for them?

Re: BP humidity questions
I keep my BP around 60% unless he is in shed then I go to about 75%. He does very well and I have never had to assist him in a shed. If the humidity gets down to 45-55% I notice he seems to have flaky scales. That only happened twice when I first got him. I haven't had a problem since.

Re: BP humidity questions
I spray mine up to about 65-70% and let it "dry" over 24 hours back to no lower than 55%. when he is in blue i make it max 80-85% and no lower than 65%.

Re: BP humidity questions
What are you using to measure the humidity? If it is spiking in the last few days it is possible that it is defective?

Less water and more ventilation.
What type of enclosure and what kind of hygrometer are you using?

I second this. Although I am having issues this winter because it has been so dry.

Re: BP humidity questions
Its possible the dial hygrometer has a water bubble against the sensor - they are pretty unreliable to say the least.
digital ones are the way to imo

Keeping the humidity that high from my understanding can cause scale rot. you need to get it down to about 60% on average and only higher when in shed.
