Hey everyone! I recently picked up a new 2 year old female Garg the other day. I've got her in a screen cage right now, she's got plenty of climbing vines and hide spots right now. She gets sprayed for about 10 minutes twice a day, and her temp is staying in the 70's, going into the 60's at night time (Canadian Winter).
I hear her crashin around her cage at night, and she's eating (CGD) and pooping it seems, but since I've got her she has not fired down once. When I first bought her she was a light gray, but a few hours after I bought her she fired up and won't go back down; this is the third day I've had her.

Maybe I'm just worrying too much, but I thought I would come check here with the experts anyways!

Thanks!

Google says a garg is a type of gecko, past that I'm not sure.

A garg is a gargoyle gecko. They are closely related to crested geckos. I wouldn't worry too much about her being fired up. She may just be a bit stressed while she's adjusting to her new environment. It sounds like you're doing everything right, so I don't think you have much to worry about.

Hey everyone, sorry I should have been a little more specific haha. It's a Gargoyle Gecko; they have almost identical care requirements as a crested, but look a little more prehistoric I'll be sure to post pictures soon, I'm waiting a couple weeks before I actually take her out of her cage

It sounds like you did your research before you got her or him and we love to hear that. Sometimes impulse buys don't go to well.

Not necessarily... i know I myself and I am sure many people here have fallen victim to the impulse buy. It is not always a death sentence, you just have to do some quick intense research to get the initial welcome home going well but it doesn't stop there. Continuing to learn more about the animal is something that most people do throughout the life of that animal. Sure it is always best to do research on whatever it is you want to get but if you put in the time and effort and are open to people who have a greater knowledge than you, impulse buys can work out just fine. I know most of my favorite guys were impulse. Maybe because I had to learn about them through them.

I meant more like people who have never even owned a reptile and never do esearch. When I went to my first reptile expo I went planning on buying a leopard gecko and I cam home with a bearded dragon, but I had been doing tons of research on beardies to just because I was wishing I could get one but I thought that I wouldn't be able to care for it as good as a gecko. I figured that I had tons of friends that breed beardies so I would have help if I needed it.
