Re: FL to Texas!! WOO!

Wow beautiful snake and super sweet set up. As far as taming this guy are more of a show snake. The less handling the better. I do know you never want to pull them off their perch. or sex them to young. Their tail break very easy. The best thing to do is have removable perches, so you can just lift the whole branch out. For now i leave it alone and let it settle in.

Re: FL to Texas!! WOO!

We never handled ours until the colour change had happened - this was advice from one of the most knowledgeable GTP guys in the UK. Once he was fully green we use a snake hook - as he is soo inquisitve by putting the hook under his chin he then climbs onto it.

As said before you DEFINITELY do not want to try removing him from a perch as the taill will break and then the snake is in big trouble.

Re: FL to Texas!! WOO!

so today i went to one of my friends house..(actually customer met from work), He had around 12 GTPs in his house and as well as other Boas and pythons from ball to carpet and more! i was like OMG!!!! He sould charge $5 dollar for visit fee to every person comes into his house!! lol He let me handled one of the GTP and she was absolutly beauitful and TAME!!!! She is in the middle of color changing! But she is really calm and lay back! so i came back home today and took my new baby out..he s a lot better than yesterday when i first got him. he actually just chilled on my hand for a good 10 mins then he began to run away and say "Enough of holding me let me go". lol it was great! hopefully i ll tame him in no time!! here are some pics from my friends house!

Re: FL to Texas!! WOO!

Go easy on it. I just watched a baby GTP die the othernight from getting sick after getting stresed from overhandling. Very sad, they are so awesome looking at that age
