Re: what the?!

an animal labeled as "het" means that it carries the gene of whatever it is het for.

het animals can look completely normal or completely different from a normal depending on the gene that it is het for.

are those animals in the ad really het for piebald is the real question.

Re: what the?!

The thing to .ook for is "proven het". That means that the animal has actually been bred and produced the morph that it is het for.

Re: what the?!

The thing to really look for is the paperwork this person got from the credible breeder they bought the animals from. You're partially right Rob but I can call any of my snakes "Proven" but without something written to trace it back my words are useless.

Re: what the?!

Whenever I buy hets, I always buy from a breeder with a solid reputation.

There are people out there who will sell normal snakes and call them hets just to mark up the price or talk customers into buying them.

Most of the time, someone who has made a name for themselves will not sell you a "het" unless they know for sure it is. Why work for years building a reputation just to have it flushed away in a couple transactions?

A "possible" het should not cost any more than a normal.

Re: what the?!

het russo is a ball python morph named after the breeder who first produced them.
