Candoia Aspera?
does anyone know any info about these guys? their common name is the New Guinea Viper Boa. the snake guru that i always talk to at my local shop in peterborough told me about these guys, they look INSANE!!!! any info would be helpful  Thanks!

Viper boas are pretty sweet little snakes. if you're looking for a display snake, or a non-aggressive one then I wouldn't get this species. Most are aggressive, secretive buggers. Most are wild caught, but you'd have to really search out for CBB.

They are really neat little snakes. I may end up getting some soon here, as they are pretty affordable. Like Aaron said, most are wild-caught, and if you get one of those you have to deworm it with Panacure and Flagyl. You should always treat for mites whether a snake is CB, CBB, or WC. They tend to spend most of their time buried under their substrate and can be quite nippy, but if you work with them, like most anything else, I'm pretty sure you could tame them.

Why is everyone insistent on "tame" snakes? If you want a "tame" snake then get a cornsnake.

im not too worried about taming them at the moment as much as finding them! lol i really like how they pack a punch in such a small package lol very big personalities from what ive seen so far lol

Well I think some people like snakes that they can handle. I personally hold attitude as an important factor as to whether or not I will continue to work with a snake. I have a few individuals that are not tame at all and I don't push them. But I really prefer snakes to be handleable. I feel badly for them being stuck in a cage all the time if I can't get them out occasionally and work with them. That being said, I don't think handling snakes every day is a good idea- it can stress them out way too much. I really only handle mine around once a week or so.

Yeah I had a pretty nasty little corn snake as well. It's really individual personalities with most any species- and sometimes snakes just don't do well with handling. I have 4 ETBs and they are all very tame and I do on occasion handle them, but mostly I leave them be in their cage and watch them. I had a Pueblan milksnake who was terrified of pretty much everything and I never handled her because it just frightened her and stressed her out too much. I probably could have "tamed" her, but why put her through that?

i keep this snake from baby n grow up to 50cm
in indonesia,candoia aspera isn't popular snake..but i glad to keep them..

i love the look of them, i find them very different and it doesnt hurt that theyre not very popular, always nice to have something different :P be nice to be able to find one around here lol
