Here's a good thread...

This thread was discussing this topic. I posted a couple pics of it there. If you can post some pics of your crested, then we can help you out!

I know someone who has one, and apparently when they are older they have very large balls (and im not talkin snakes) that are quite noticeable. Otherwise im not sure, maybe someone else can shead some light.

Who ever told you could have just lied to you. 7-8 months a crestie can be male without showing any signs.

from the pics on that forum looks like it might just be a male which is not good because i have another little crestie ( the one that wasnt growing well but has suddenly had a growth spur and is getting nice and big finaly and is regularly shedding) which i want to at a later time when they are at an even size keep together... guess it wont be happening

Some males will not show until they are almost a year old. I've had mine show anywhere between 13-17g, which was when the 13g was 6 monthes old, and the 17g was 4monthes old.

That's not to say that it can take longer. I have spoken to a couple breeders that have had males show once they hit 12 monthes. That's sort of the pain with them, they look female (which most people want), up until you make 'plans' for them, and then POP! Males we have!

Some females have a slight bulge (very slight) such that they are just barely not flat, which can look like the beginnings of male-hood. The only way to figure it out is to let time tell.

If you can post good quality pics of the undercarriage of your crested in question, then I'm sure we can help you a bit!

We certainly fall into that one... Samantha turned into Sam at about 14 months....

Nothing is for sure until they lay an egg....

Good Luck with them!
