Question Worries

My bf and I recently got 2 corn snakes and they are taking to their tank completely differently. My snake, a pink snow, wont explore his tank but he moves around sometimes to find a good temperature for his body. Every few hours he moves a little. My bfs snake, a black albino, explored the entire tank and then hid on the cold side for hours so we moved him so he could get warm and then he stayed on the warm side until he got really warm and we had to move him to the cold again. Why won't he regulate his own body temperature? We are worried that this is a bad sign and we were wondering if this is normal for a new snake to do. Any advice?

Maybe he just felt like being cool. If the cool side is the right temperature he is at no risk being there. My corns sit on one side sometimes for days, even when you move them they go back. What you have described sounds perfectly normal, unless the hide up the cool end makes him feel more secure in which case you should get a better hide up the warm end.

Dont worry your little head on that. theres much more serious stuff than that. snakes decide where they want to be. i have some that are always on the cool side while others are always on the warm side. its a matter of preference. nothing wrong with it at all. Any chance you have pics of their set up? whats the temps?
