calling all afrock owners
I just want to know who else, other than me, keeps those. Pics would be nice.
I also have a question: I have noticed that african rock males seem to outgrow females. Have you seen this, too? Could i be wrong?
Thanks.

Chances are your pair is improperly sexed and what you think is the male could very well be your female breed them and watch to see who gives you the eggs.
Not saying this to be ignorant in any way these things happen more often then not.

Thanks. But i have been realising that with several specimens i have had through time (i believe properly sexed). ALL males i have had so far have grown faster than my females, and i find that strange. But again, that happens with many colubrids and other snakes too.

I remember that post. Well, i never saw anything like that, that's why i say it's weird.
The reason i asked for age and size on those rocks is to compare with the one's i have had. I could be wrong but i'm guessing that male is also bigger than the female...

Quite often the males will grow more quickly initially - I've noticed this with my corns, as well as my BCI - but the females continue to grow long after the males have stopped.
BTW, that axanthic-sided female is COOL!

With the Afrocks I've owen the males tend to grow a little more quickly at first but slow right down wile the females grow at a steady pace. My Male Afrock is 14 months old and around the 8 foot mark.
