How big does a water dish for an adult bp need to be?
also, what should be the approximate dimensions for a 3-4' bp? how tall does the opening have to be, how big do they have to be for the snake to get all the way in etc.
I have a large plastic water dish with a flat bottom. My ball python only drinks from it. She is about 18 inches long. The 4 ft ball pyhon that I am taking care of for a family member has the same size but it is a Pyrex baking dish , this snake likes to sit in the dish. The bigger the ball python the more they are prone to sitting in the water dishes. so the snake should be able to fit his whole body in it. I hope this helps .
We have and 18 inch water dish for one, a 14 inch dish for the other, and a small 6 inch for the baby. All three are deep enough for the snaked to completely submerge themselves if they wish.
