{it sad that im the only one to answer my post}

just to let every one know i have done some research and found

pond turtle has a short stubed tail it is a female and if it is a long pointlike tail that is thick a the base of the tail it is a male also a male turtle has longer claws

the dip in the belly plate is a way to determine the sex of box turtles and other tortoise the male will have a dip in his belly plate and the female will have a flat belly plate males will also have red eyes as Opposed to a female which will have brown

so

IT A "GIRL"

sorry no one posted a reply but your right..... it is probably still hard to tell.... i always compare young turtles to one another.... look for the peniel buldges..... young turtles are almost impossible to tell the sex of untill they are mature.... and then it as easy as looking at the claws males are like 4 times longer than females
