Typical Adult Crested's Weight?

Hi Everyone!

I was just wondering what your guys' typical adult crested weight is? From the adults that I have right now, there seems to be a huge range in size, and I'm wondering how much genetics could affect it, or whether it's a male vs female thing. I have one adult female stub-tail that sits around 52grams when she's not pregnant, and goes up to about 58grams when she's ready to pop! On the other hand, my only fully grown adult male doesn't seem to get anywhere higher than 34grams.

I have a bunch of subadults right now, and I'm interested to see which end of the scale they will end up at. From the looks of it, the females are going to be short and thick, while the males look long and lanky.

I'm just looking for some experience with weights, it has been a question I've been meaning to ask for a while now!

So far this year, my hatchlings have been 2.2g-2.4g. My first hatchling is just under 2 months old (hatched July 4th), and is 7.2g

They seem to be growing like weeds!

that's a good question that I was wanting to know also. I have a male that is about 3yrs old and 38g. I have another male that is nearly 2yrs old and only 26g. I attribute that to him having MBD a year ago maybe. I have a couple females, one about 2yrs old and one 10month old that are 26g. And then I have a 10month old female that is a whopping 45g.

All these I have raised from nearly birth and have fed them and cared for them all the same. My 2yr old female was at 32g at one time and dropped to 21g for some unknown reason and I nursed her back to health and she is up to the 26g now.
None of mine are related. My 2 10month olds were purchased seperately about the same time/same size when they were just a few weeks old (not related)and yet there is nearly 20g difference in them now.
At the shows I have atttended, I have never seen any adults that look to be more that 30-35g and that is what confuses me that I read adults should be 45-55g.

Well the average adult weight is 35grams. They continue to grow their whole life.
Cresteds come in all shapes in sizes. Don't over feed them in an attempt to make them grow larger. Too many supplements can be a bad thing. They don't need to be monsters to be healthy.

I'm just glad that I'm not the only one with huge variance in the weights!

There does seem to be a range in eating habits as well, such as some crested that are very aggressive hunters which will actually run/chase crickets, while other just wait for a cricket to walk by, and then they contemplate catching it.

Thanks for the input, anybody else's opinions would be greatly appreciated as well!

My 3 males are smaller on average compared to any of my females.
A bit off track but my female gargoyles have got a good 10g on my male

, and they're the same age. Average adult weight for a Gargoyle is around 50g to 60g, but I was reading on another forum, that a zoo in the states has a female around 80 grams!!

My female breeders weight are from smallest is 35 grams(tail-less) to our big Bertha that is 60+. My average weight would be around the 45 to 48 grams. My males that are at least one year of age weigh in at 35 to 47 grams. I believe that weight and genetics do play a role as my smaller females tend to give me smaller babies. Same as our big girl. Her babies are structurally bigger just like her.
