Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of a turtle called a loonie turtle. I remember someone asking a petstore if they had one. If not does anyone know of any turtles that stay very small like the size of a loonie or so?
Only hatchlings stay the size of a loonie for a few months and then they become size of saucers and dinner plates. There is no such thing as mini turtles. The smallest full grown turtle will be around 4" SCL (staright carapace length).
I beleive there is such a turtle which stays the size of a loonie
but the gentleman who claims to have one calls it a beer turtle
it is found in asia do not quote me although if curious I can e mail you his phone # and you may inquire yourself he is located in the toronto area.
