weird T behaviour??

Yesterday my golden knee was doing this bizarre thing where she had her fangs stretched way out and stuck through the screen in the top of her tank. I haven't seen any of the others that I've got do this, but I have seen her do this once before. After a minute or two of this behaviour, she climbs down and goes about her business.
Is there some purpose to this???
Has anyone else noticed their T's doing anything similar???

Here is a pic, it's kinda crummy but hopefully gets the point across:

Yes I agree, sounds like she's just exploring, like all other animals it's probably just looking around for a better safer place to live.

Hello.
Another agreement here. I have a female B.boehmei that constantly explores the top of her tank, pushing and prodding and poking. She got out once, and was gone for a month. So it paid off for her.

I am concerned though about your screen lid. I'm sure you have read that Ts can get their claws stuck in the mesh? Its really not recommended for them. I have a couple of Miracles aquariums with those nice form fitting screen lids. I put the lids in storage, and built solid tops for them to match my other tanks. I believe its safer for the T.

Here is a picture of the tanks for my adults. Both above and below, you can see that I took 1X2 inch strapping (its .99 for 8 feet), and made a rectangle to fit the tank. I paint them all a solid black, then screw on a solid piece of plexiglass to the underside. I only put five holes drilled into the centre. This way I hope it keeps humidity up for the tanks that need it.
Just an idea.

Really nice chaco, BTW.
