Water Monitors!

I am currently looking into some Water Monitors and was wondering what you feel is the best type?

I have seen Sulphur, Sumatran, White Headed, etc, etc.

Also where would the best place, in your opinion, to get one be (Online Breeder.)

Thanks,

B.U.

Hi,
I doubt you will find a breeder of V. salvators with monitors to sell. They are not bred frequently. You might try www.cybersalvator.com and see what those people have available? I was visiting east bay vivarium in berkeley, CA and I saw 2 baby V. salvator for sale there...they looked good. They have a web site, but I do not know their web address. Their tel. no. is 510-841-1400.

Good Luck,
mbayless

Thank you Mark

There site is www.eastbayvivarium.com and they have listed CH Babies for $150 and Juvies for $300.

Unfortunately they don't have pictures, but I'm assuming they are lookers since you say they looked good.

Maybe I'll drop them an email.

Thanks,

B.U.

Not good

I'm not gonna rush into something like a Water though. So it will be awhile, and when it comes, it will be a CBB Baby.

As do I Jeff.

Not only are Water Monitors a LARGE animal that needs GREAT care. But if we can stop supporting the WC industry, then it will be alot harder for people to attain such animals.

IE - The Nile Monitor

Thanks,

B.U.

my favorite salvator subspecies...

V. s. togianus. I think that togianus along with cummingi, and sulfers, are the most beautiful of the species...with me being partial to my togianus...hahahaha... There really isn't too many of these in the country, I would assume less than 20. Maybe more around 10 or 12. Cheers,

bob
