The guy I'm buying my cresteds from mentioned something about putting a fresh coat of wax on them? Excuse me if I should know something about this but I can't find anything on it, why should you wax crested geckos? Any information appreciated

He's telling you to wax your gecko?????
That even beats the useless advice the proverbial rotten pet stores give.
I'd find another breeder.

Don't read too much into it, LOL. Sounds like he's just being humourous! You know, like a new car, he'll get them all shined up for you when you pick them up...

LOL@Ryan
That's exactly what I thought he meant by it! I doubt a crested, or any sort of gecko would sit still long enough for an actual waxing! lol

That's right up there with using nail polish to mark your hatchlings...

As I've read alot of people have bought from him i don't know if I'm allowed to put an adress but gecko-madness.com he seems like a real nice guy and his geckos look great and I'm getting a pretty decent deal on them as well has anyone else ever delt with him?

Hey, I have never hear of waxing cresteds before, I would say it wasn't meant literally, But I have heard of people waxing snakes before (I would assume with some sort of bees wax) apparently it helps with shedding keeps the snakes skin moist? I can't remember where I heard it, but someone before has definitely told me that they wax their snakes when they enter a shed cycle. I have never tried it myself, has anyone else heard of it?
