brodie, that first one is intense! what is the common name of that species? am i correct in thinking that it is a dwarf?

Whites monitor.

Yes it is a small species, usually attaining no more than 60cm TL. Though, one of my males is close to 80.

wish i had more room for monitors but at the moment i can only afford to have one 4 ft plus tank lol, but those are some beauties.

Wow, Crocdoc, i don't think i have ever seen a monitor so beautiful!!! No kidding, it's the first time i see a Lace Monitor and i think they are wonderful looking!!!! They look insane!!! How is their temper??? What do you feed them, where do they come from, i wanna know it all!!! The prettiest monitors i've seen, especially on your first two pics!

Looking over posts again, have got to agree with bistrobob85, those are amazing creatures crocdoc, as well as excellent photos! Wow! Oh yeah, well as our Nile we also have recently "rescued" from a pet store a little baby Water monitor, have to borrow a camera before I can get any pics. Till then, I hope more people keep adding to this post/thread, these are the reads that are most enjoyable!
