Snake records

My boyfriend made me this amazing webpage to keep all my snake records. For the past three years or so I have been using word documents. It's not that bad using those, but it can take a long time to update each and every snake if I feed them all on the same night, opening and closing all the documents and what not.

This allows me to update ALL the snakes at once, a couple at a time, or single updates on certain snakes. I can also modify records easier. The biggest advantage so far is being able to look at my records no matter where I am. If I went on vacation, I could look and see if my roomates fed the snakes on the correct day, or I can change the records from another computer. It makes things a whole lot easier.

Soon enough he will have a login page, so that other people can also store their records, and when they login, their snakes records will come up. But for now it's just me.

Tell me what you think, and if you have any better additions or ideas share those too because I am sure there are TONS of other things we could add to make this program better. To view a snakes record, use the query button and choose the snakes name

Marisa
P.S. Up until now my record keeping has kinda sucked, so if you view any you'll notice many missing feedings and other stuff. LOL. But hopefully this will make me be more dilligent.

Great Site, I especually like seeing all the pictures (sage is a pretty girl). When I clicked on new querry at the top of the record page I got 'Page cannot be displayed'.

My records are kept on sheets nailed to the wall above the cages, when the sheets get full I transfer them into Excel and put up a new sheet. Seems to work for me.

Good Luck with your new records.

I am not sure why you got that error, as it works for us and a couple others. But I am gonna double check. There are plenty of bugs still to be worked out but eventually it will become a hotmail type website, with the main page simply a login/password. Just web based record keeping mainly.

Any more ideas welcome.

wow, your snakes are awesome! I loved the pictures with the info idea. I do all my records manually on paper with clip boards. And my records aren't always complete that way. lol. So, I know what you mean about being efficiant. I should get my hubby to build me a progam similar if he could ever get time. lol. Great program and great snakes! I love your grey bandeds too! Never was interested in kingsnakes till I saw those guys. lol. And I know what you went through with Delores. I have a female ball that wont take rats, she will only take mice. GRRRRR! Even scented rats don't seem to fool her.

Very cool program Marisa! I can definitely see something like that coming in handy... I'm pretty awful at keeping records at the moment, so anything that would make it easier would be a big plus. LOL. At the moment, I'm using Excel, and I have a separate spreadsheet for each animal... so I know what you mean about it being a pain to have to open and close each file to get all the updates done (which is part of why it doesn't happen all that often... lol). Everything worked fine for me as well, no error messages or anything... Keep us posted!
