Regurgitation...
Hello everyone. Some may remember my woes with Girl, my albino leopard gecko.
I recently began using a product (don't remember the name right off hand, but it's from Flucker Farms). It's an emergency aide for carni.insectivores. I've been administering it to Girl everynight for almost a week.At first I noticed that Girl was more alert (opening her eyes, looking around, responding to my voice). It didn't really stimulate her to eat more, I still have to hand feed her. Two days ago she ate 3 waxworms. (At this point I don't really care what she eats, just so long as she eats). I kept her cage warm and misted her daily (because she keeps shedding... 5 times in 6 weeks!)
Anyways, this morning I went to check on her only to find she had vomited up the waxies I gave her. A BIG setback, she appears weaker than ever. I'm planning on taking her to the vet again, to see if we can do something for her... otherwise I just might have her put down... I can't stand to see her suffer.
If anyone knows what I might be doing wrong, or has advice, please let me know. This is breaking my heart... =(

I'm sure it's not that you are doing anything wrong I've noticed that many people, myself included are experiencing annorexia with leos. Seems that once a problem pops up everyone begins having the same thing happen. Just be persistant with your vet. Annorexia is often the end result of another problem, usually some type of parasite. Be patient and let us know how she is doing.

I'm not sure but have have you tried giving microbiotics (or something close to that). It's supposed to be "healty" bacteria found in the gut. If she's not eating then her digestive track may be all whacked out and she may not be able to properly digest food, that may be what is causing her to regurge.
Sorry don't know much about this(microbiotics), hopefully another member can't point you in the right direction.

The Bean Farm carries a product called Nutri-BAC which is a probiotic. Might be worth looking into. I've also had a lot of luck with a product called Para-Zap. It has workied like a charm to rid worms and other parasites on a wide variety of our pets. It also stimulates thier appetites. Check out www.para-zap.com (I think that's it). Let us know how things go too

I've had the same problem (anorexia) with one of my young ones (coincidentally, also an albino), vet said no parasites or other health problems. I tried probiotics and slurry, also an "appetite-enhancing" electrolyte liquid, all given with an eyedropper.

Drs. Foster & Smith carry Reptile Bene-Bac that comes in either powder or gel form. They also carry a product called Worm Guard, which is supposed to help expel worms/parasites plus increase appetite. I use Electrodize (liquid electrolytes) regularly in drinking water, and along with a similar product, Electrolize, it's supposed to stimulate appetite.

Click on "feeding & health", and then "general health & medication" and you'll find Jump Start gel, and also Hydro Life. I've had occasion to use both - my gex didn't take to the Jump Start, but I swear the Hydro Life is what saved the life of my baby albino when she refused all food.
I've also used a probiotic called AcidophiLiz +, made by a company called Pet Authority, which also contains various vitamins, calcium and enzymes...unfortunately, I can't remember where I got it...might have been a pet store, as I've checked all my online herp suppliers and can't find it.
Good luck, hope Girl pulls thru...
