vermiculite ?

Hey I was just cleaning one of my leos cages and noticed that his poop had a lot of vermiculite in it. I had just changed his humid hide from peat to vermiculite. Should I change it to moist paper towels maybe? He seems to like hanging out on the vermiculite a lot more then the peat but I'll take it out if its a health concern.
Thanks

Paper towels can work, but they dry out fast, so you'll have to watch them carefully. I use peat moss in all the hideboxes, have never had any problem with it, and it's still my favourite substrate for hides and laying boxes.

I use sphagnum peat moss, and love using it for my humid hides/lay boxes. The geckos absolutely love it. Never had a problem with them ingesting it.
When I used vermiculite, they did ingest it by accident sometimes.
Peat moss works much better for me.
Hope this helped,
-Sam

I use Bed a beast (or similar products) for all my humid hides and nesting boxes. I personally haven't experianced any problems.
