hygrometer question
Aside from the cheap next to useless little fluker's hygrometer at the pet store. What do you use, where did you get it, what did it cost? I need to get something new. Thanks
Geoff

There is a little silver unit made by "Bionair" which is one of my favouites.
It's sold by Home Depot, and you'll find it in the department with the humidifiers...If records the highest and lowest readings as well. It's also a thermometer...
It's in the 36 to 40 buck range.
If you have a building box out that way, they are cheaper there by about 6 bucks

I got my digital thermometers/hygormeters from www.bigappleherp.com
They have probes and I love them!
Here's a link:

I also bought a tempgun from proexotics.com as a back up.

Radio Shack, $25, 5 years, original battery, works like a charm.

Just curious but is there some kind of hygrometer available in Canada that has a humidity probe rather than a built-in meter? I don't really like having the whole meter in the viv.
The only one I've found is this one:
http://www.bigappleherp.com/bigapple...roducts/178105
And I'd buy it from Big Apple but I'd need to buy $100 USD worth of stuff in order for them to ship here. I can't find that much worth of stuff on the site I really need (or even want) - even if I buy more than 1 hygrometer.

Anyway we could just modify a hygrometer and put the sensor on a wire? It has to be connected to a wire as it is, so why couldn't we just extend that wire? I don't see any reason...
