Right now I have my colubrids brumating as well, for a good 14-16 weeks. The night temp drops down to 40° and gets up to 55° during the day, and will be like that the whole duration just about. I think 40° is as low as you would want to go safely, so there is some time before it actually falls to the point of freezing. All the folks I know that brumate their snakes, including myself, do it at a range of 45-55° (+/- 5 °) for 12-16 weeks. My montane snakes prefer it at 40-50° and a longer brumation period than most, at about 14-16 weeks. I just keep all my snakes in that formula and makes things a bit easier for me and works great.
