Does anyone ride a Motorcycle?
Hey, i was wondering if anyone here rides a bike, if so what bike?
Im thinking about getting a bike for next summer. Im a first time rider and i want a Suzuki GSX R 600, but im hearing that racing bikes shouldnt be a first bike So im leaning towards a Suzuki SV 650S. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
-Steve-

My first bike was a Honda Nighthawk, I can't say I had many complaints. I got it so I could learn how to do all the work on it myself, and if I did do something wrong, I wasn't messing up a $10, 000.00 bike. Oh and no, I didn't screw the bike up. I actually made a few improvements.

Yep... this is my 3rd season with it
If I was you... I would keep off the 401 with your bike when you get it... you are begging to become roadkill riding the 401

I have had many motorcycles. My last one was a Susuki Volusia, but I sold it last year. I am trying to decide what to get next...I am leaning towards a Honda Goldwing 1800 (for those long road trips I like to take), or a Honda VTX 1800 (just a big hulking bike!). Personally I hate crotch rockets (racing bike lookalikes), but that could be because I am 6 foot tall and just shy of 300 lbs! Laying on my belly and sticking my *** up in the air to ride a bike is not my idea of comfort!!

I have a Kawisaki '81 gpz550. It runs great and its ugly enuff not to care if i drop it. Bought it last summer. You dont want to buy a $10,000 bike for your first bike, cause u might have a heart attack watching your new bike slide accross the asphalt (sparks and all)

it is probably not too good of an idea to get a Crotch Rocket for your first bike, i have been riding for about 3 years and love it (altho i am not "legally" allowed to) but the first bike i rode was a 1995??? Suzuki GSX 1100G now this bike is the farthest thing from a "starter" this bike has almost a identical engine to the bandit but it is TOP HEAVY AS HELL!! it is a sport/cruiser. it is a HORRIBLE bike to start off on, but i survived, also your hight and weight can play a factor in the bike u start off in, i am BIG for my age (6'2 and 230 pounds) so i would manage that bike much better than say someone who is 5'5 and 130 pounds, lol. but i would chose wisely and i know where i live there are courses that teach u how to ride that are 2 days and if u complete it u get your license and they supply Honda 250cc bike (couldn't tell u witch one off hand, probly a rebel) but good luck with your new "toy" there alot of fun
